Teletón 20-30

Transparency

Your trust is part of the goal too.

Anyone who gives deserves to know what was promised, what was raised, what was carried out and what was delivered. We publish verified information, we keep preliminary figures separate from reconciled ones, and we update each project as the work moves forward.

How it works, step by step

  1. Step 1

    We select the project

A needs assessment covering medical and infrastructure needs at public health institutions.

  2. Step 2

We set the scope and the goal

Deliverables, exclusions, budget and population reached, with the methodology spelled out.

  3. Step 3

    We raise the funds

The event rallies artists, companies and citizens around that one specific goal.

  4. Step 4

    We reconcile

We match every contribution against the payment provider, the bank and the pledges collected.

  5. Step 5

    We buy or contract

With designated people in charge and a record of every significant decision.

  6. Step 6

    We supervise

We follow the installation or construction until the project is ready to use.

  7. Step 7

    We deliver

A formal handover to the receiving institution, with a signed record.

  8. Step 8

    We publish the results

The outcome, the evidence available and whatever is still in progress.

Corrections

If you spot a figure or fact that needs review, write to us. We log the request, review it and publish a correction when one is warranted.

A material correction doesn’t erase the previous version. It stays on record, with the date and the reason for the change.

Preliminary figures and reconciled figures

During a broadcast, a preliminary figure circulates. It reflects what has been pledged and reported live. The reconciled figure reflects what was actually collected. The two are almost always different, and publishing the first as if it were the second is the most common way to lose a donor’s trust.
